Under the **Central Motor Vehicles Rules**, the government can mandate safety recalls for vehicles found with defective components. Manufacturers and investigative agencies must use Forms 50A, 50B, and 50C for reporting.

What is a Voluntary Recall?
Under the Indian Motor Vehicle Recall Portal, a manufacturer can also voluntarily initiate a recall if they discover a safety hazard or manufacturing defect. If you receive a recall notice, you are entitled to free repairs or replacement of the defective parts from the authorized service center.
